There is two train operatores driving from Oslo’s main airport, Oslo lufthavn, Gardermoen:

Airport Express Train (Flytoget)

Airport Express Train is what the name says, a fast train which goes often from and to the airport.

  • At Saturday, the Airport Express Train goes every 20. minute from and to Oslo airport, Gardermoen.
  • At all other days, the train goes every 10. minute from and to Oslo airport, Gardermoen.

Saturday is the day most of us arrive and leave.

Pricing:

  • A ticket costs 170 NOK (19.90 EUR) for adults 20+.
  • Teenagers and students between 16-20, travel for 85 NOK (9.95 EUR).
  • Childen under the age of 16, can..
    • Travel for free with one adult over 18.
    • Others can travel for 85 NOK (9.95 EUR)

Tickets must be purchased on a machine or the counter. They can not be purchased on the train.

The local train (NSB)

The local train is run by the company NSB. At the moment, NSB does not have time tabels for next summer. It’s likely that there will be a train two times each hour.

Pricing:

  • A ticket costs 102 NOK (11.95 EUR) for everyone over 15+
  • For childen between 4-15, 51 NOK (5.97 EUR)
  • Childen under 4 travel for free, as long as they don’t require a own seat.

Tickets can be puirchased on a machine or at a counter. It’s also possible to buy at a train, but an additional fee at 20 NOK (2,34 EUR) will be then.

Important

If you want to travel with a child ticket, you always should bring identification (pass, visum, credit card etc.) to proove your age. You could get fines and/or additinoal fees if you can’t proove this.

Always have Norwegian kroner in cash at every moment. Both the Airport Express Train and the local train takes VISA (and likly other cards), but it’s good to have cash in case.
